For Chinese music, I found it easiest to search directly in iTunes.  However, the internet is very, very helpful!

These are songs that have different messages about inclusion and other cultures.  There are links to purchase CD’s if you like what you hear!  Some of them have free iTunes downloads.

These are links to songs that are from Ancient Egypt.  It is helpful to look at these before going into iTunes to search for songs.  I found it easiest to search for an artist, not a specific song title.

This provides titles of CDs that can be bought and downloaded onto an iPod.  You can also search for the CD within iTunes to try to find it!

A great resource for a variety of music from all around the world!

I also found the music teacher at my school to be a fabulous resource!  She had many CD’s that I could borrow and download onto my iTunes to share with my students!

Other ways to integrate an iPod...

«   I play classical music softly and if the students cannot hear it any longer, it is their cue that the classroom has become too noisy.

«   The students generated a list of songs that they liked and what they triggered them to do.  We play those songs and they know it is time to transition.

«   I play classical music during work time to help the student’s creative juices start flowing!

«   This provides a chance to bring in music from different decades—all my students have discovered a love for 80’s music J
