Sharing our life stories through iMovie

A part of the third grade curriculum is learning about our communities, families, and our selves. Students have done many projects around this theme including the Mapa de Vida (Map of our Lives), Yo Soy (I am) poems, and their autobiographies.

In order for students to expand their learning and to be able to share their hard work with their classmates, we videotaped them reading or talking about their favorite project. Now students will compile these video clips into a class iMovie that will digitally illustrate a piece of who they are.

Our hope for this project is that it will help students connect with one another. Also it will give them an opportunity to gain experience with technology by publishing their work in a way that is easy and powerful to share with classmates and their families.
