Purpose
Some students have
difficulty visualizing what they are reading or seeing a picture being walked
around the room. Bringing technology
into the classroom allows the students to experience Oregon in ways they never
could by reading informational text alone. Technology opens the door to new experiences creating a
personal interest in social studies.
My
Mini-Grant
o For a 4/5th grade blend
o A project based social studies unit where
students made a scrapbook of present-day Oregon.

tell/read about it through educational movies
o Class demonstrations on how to research
o Scanned and showed examples of previous
student work.
o Students share their best work to
classmates for everyone to see
o Built around OR State Standards
o
Brings travel
experience to the class to pique interest.
