"Art, Storytelling Multimedia and the New Literacies "

Jason Ohler
Keynote Speaker
"The goal is to use technology to understand the past and to tell stories about the future we want... to understand not only how to use technology but when and why...to blend community, technology & learning...and by all means to have fun..."

Most of the time when you walk out of the movie theater disappointed it's because the story was lousy. Moral: if you don't know what a story is, the technology will only make that more obvious. Before you sit down behind all of that wonderfully distracting high tech multimedia gear, learn what makes a story work, how to develop plot, character, meaning, & audience engagement. Learn how to create transformation, the essence of many of the greatest stories, books, & movies. Learn why in an age of multimedia, art has become the next literacy or 4th R. Apply this to content learning for students and personal projects, as well as corporate productivity.
