REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
OTEN PROJECT MINI-GRANTS

The Department of Education TQE-P Grant, through the Oregon Technology in Education Network (OTEN) Consortium, is inviting proposals from Math and Science faculty and student teacher/mentor teachers for projects that will contribute to the preparation of technology-proficient educators. OTEN is prepared to award mini-grants of up to $1,000 in support of projects proposed by individuals or teams. The purpose of these mini-grants is to serve as a catalyst for helping faculty members and student teachers to increase their ability to utilize technology in the classroom. The proposals for the grants will be reviewed and awarded under the auspices of GFU-OTEN..

Eligibility: Any full-time faculty member, any student teacher/mentor team, or any first year teacher graduating from GFU is eligible to apply - as an individual or as part of a faculty team - for a mini-grant of up to $1000.00. Individual project budgets may be modified by OTEN to make best use of existing funds..

Application Guidelines: Applicants for a OTEN mini-grant are to complete and submit the on-line Project Grant Application Form found at the OTEN Minigrants website (see below). The website also includes information about previous year's projects.

Mini Grant Criteria: Proposals must address how the project, through a tangible outcome or product, will contribute to the individual or institutional capacity to prepare technology proficient educators and/or to enhance the utilization of technology in the classroom. .

Projects might involve the development of new technology-based units for existing courses, the redesign of courses to more fully integrate technology throughout, the design of field experiences that will provide practice in technology-rich environments, or any number of projects yet to be conceived.

Grantees must present project outcomes at the OTEN mini-conference in April 14, 2008.
